ABOUT US

EPAAS Limited is the developer of Electronic Working Papers System (EWPS), a totally new way of preparing and managing working-papers, the building blocks behind the creation of financial statements of sole traders, partnerships and companies. EWPS removes the need for paper-based working papers or client records as the system holds all the information in its database.

Nearly 150 different document templates are available for the recording and processing of accounting data and creation of nominal ledger and trial balances. The format of manual working papers varies from one accounting firm to another, but follows a similar pattern. EWPS introduces a standard for working paper documents and by automating them it provides portability, reduction in the data processing required, consistency in the document production process and enables all jobs processed by EWPS to be at the accountants’ “fingertips”.

EWPS has a very intuitive interface, so that it will not take an accountant long to understand and fully use the system. Documents previously used in a manual system as working papers are replaced in EWPS by forms designed to minimise input. Printed documents whose source is another system or process (e.g. bank statements, sales ledger printouts, invoices, letters etc.) can be scanned into EWPS’ repository to be held with manually entered data. Documents already in electronic format e.g. WORD, Excel, PowerPoint and PDFs may be imported into the repository making access easy.

The system offers a powerful state-of-the-art workflow solution that provides real-time information on the status of jobs in progress, deadlines and outstanding queries.

Security is very important and is implemented so that each user has very specific authorities, enabling access to records and functions they need - but no more.

EPAAS Limited is a privately owned company founded in 2004 by an experienced team of entrepreneurs, accountants and technologists who have been in IT and the accounting profession for many years.

EPAAS Limited provides innovative software that helps accountants in practice save costs, improve efficiency and raise practise assurance standards, while at the same time providing an enhanced service to clients. EPAAS Limited’s mission is to provide a fast, flexible and powerful way to manage the data processed by accountants in their day to day activities.

Our first product, EWPS, is a client-server application that offers accountants, bookkeeping companies and outsourcers who prepare the accounts of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies (audited or exempt) a business and technology solution to a process which is very labour intensive in its nature and produces lots of paper.

With EWPS every piece of data becomes digital, equally visible and available. By using EWPS, clients’ accounting data is retrieved accurately and quickly, no longer requiring the retention of paper-based records or source documents relevant to accounts preparation.

EPAAS will grow but it will never lose sight of our roots. We promise to remain as responsive to all our clients needs, large, medium or small and to provide software and services at prices which enable all practices to enjoy a level playing field.

We will not lock clients into us by employing single proprietary databases or long term contracts. We will achieve client retention by providing a good service and interoperable, best of breed, policies.

Stanton Smith - Director and Founder

Stanton has over 30 years experience in IT, designing, developing and implementing IT solutions. He has been the CEO of a number of software companies and partner at a top 5 management consultancy

Alan Bloom - Financial Director and Founder

Alan has over 30 years experience in both management consultancy and in the accountancy profession, advising clients on their accounting systems, business strategies and the use of IT. Having been the senior partner in a firm of City Chartered Accountants, he now takes a special interest in the effective use of IT by accountants.

David Laing - Chief Technology Officer

David has over 8 years experience as a software developer, specialising in leading edge Microsoft .NET and SQL Server technology. He holds a Microsoft developer premier qualification - Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer. He has been involved in the creation of a number of software companies.
